On and off the boat with avid Naturalists who can share incredible knowledge about the Galapagos Islands. The ship has a crew 50, 8 Naturalist Guides, and a permanently stationed medical officer available 24/7. The Santa Cruz II accommodates up to 90 guests with a generous amount of public and social areas, a reading room and natural history library, a restaurant and elegant dining areas, bar and lounges, and sundecks perfect for whale watching or sunbathing in comfortable loungers or the ships Jacuzzi. Santa Cruz is an exciting vessel to tour the Galapagos as it also features a glass bottom, creating a compelling alternative to snorkeling!

All accommodations of cabins and suites are attractive and modern. There are 50 cabins, all with private bathrooms and air conditioning available, and they can also be converted from twins to doubles. Different types of rooms are available, such as singles, images, and triples. There are 3 “Darwin Suites” also available that are more luxurious than the rest.

Baltra / Santa Cruz Islands

Monday
AM: A short flight brings you to Baltra Island, where a direct transfer takes you to the port to board the comfortable expedition vessel MS Santa Cruz II, marking the start of your island adventure.

PM: Land at Las Bachas Beach, a pristine white-sand shoreline with turquoise waters, ideal for spotting flamingos and sea turtles. Enjoy swimming or snorkeling before returning onboard for the evening expedition briefing.

Tuesday
AM: Explore Buccaneer Cove along towering cliffs by panga, spotting seabirds and sea lions and admiring formations like Elephant Rock and The Bishop, with time for water activities

PM: Visit Puerto Egas to observe Galápagos fur seals and coastal birdlife, or swim and snorkel the rocky shoreline, often alongside marine turtles.

Wednesday
AM: Begin on Rábida Island, exploring its striking red-sand beach by panga and on foot, with sea lions, marine iguanas, mockingbirds, yellow warblers, and Darwin’s finches.

PM: Sail to Bartolomé Island, swim or snorkel near Pinnacle Rock, spot Galapagos penguins, enjoy a glass-bottom boat, or hike to the summit for iconic panoramic views.

Thursday
AM: Climb Prince Philip’s Steps to a flat plateau alive with Nazca and red-footed boobies, great frigatebirds, and storm petrels, with optional kayaking along the cliffs.

PM: Land at Darwin Bay to swim from the coral-sand beach, stroll among dense seabird colonies, or relax with snorkeling or kayaking in the sheltered bay.

Friday
AM: Begin on the north shore of Santa Cruz with a dry landing and bus ride into the highlands, where protected reserves are home to wild giant tortoises amid lush Scalesia forests, orchids, and bromeliads. Transfer directly to Baltra Airport for your flight to Quito (with onward international connections) or Guayaquil, concluding your Galapagos expedition.

AM: Upon arrival, transfer directly to the port to board the expedition vessel MS Santa Cruz II, where your island adventure begins.

PM: Sail along Santa Cruz’s north shore and land at Cerro Dragón. Walk past a brackish lagoon frequented by flamingos and shorebirds, then continue inland for sweeping bay views and your first encounters with Galapagos land iguanas.

AM: Punta Vicente Roca (Isabela Island) Explore Punta Vicente Roca by panga along dramatic cliffs, spotting flightless cormorants, Galapagos penguins, and boobies; weather permitting, snorkel with green sea turtles, sunfish, and fur seals.

PM: Land on pristine Fernandina Island to observe vast marine iguana colonies, sea lions, Sally Lightfoot crabs, hawks, and penguins along the wild volcanic shoreline..

Saturday
AM: Disembark in Puerto Ayora to visit the Charles Darwin Research Station, exploring the giant tortoise breeding center, Darwin’s finches, and forests of prickly pear cacti central to the islands’ conservation story.

PM: Enjoy lunch in the cooler highlands of Santa Cruz Highlands, where wild giant tortoises roam freely, followed by optional activities such as mountain biking or a visit to a traditional sugar plantation.

Sunday
AM: Cruise Floreana’s north shore by panga to scenic Baroness Cove, then land at Post Office Bay to visit the historic mail barrel still used by travelers today..

PM: Explore Champion Islet by panga or glass-bottom boat with exceptional snorkeling, then walk Cormorant Point from an olivine-sand beach to a flamingo-filled lagoon.

AM: Transfer directly to Baltra Airport for your flight to Quito with onward connections to Switzerland, or alternatively to Guayaquil.

AM: Arrive by panga at Punta Pitt, the only site where all three booby species can be seen together, with options for a coastal walk, boat exploration, or snorkeling in clear waters.

PM: Visit Cerro Colorado Tortoise Reserve, a key breeding center where giant tortoises roam freely, alongside endemic wildlife such as the San Cristobal mockingbird and lava lizards.

Sunday
AM: Enjoy a nature walk on Santa Fe’s white-sand beaches with sea lions and the endemic Barrington land iguana, plus options to swim, snorkel, kayak, or join a glass-bottom boat.

PM: Explore South Plaza Island, spotting frigatebirds, swallow-tailed gulls, Galapagos shearwaters, and both land and marine iguanas amid vibrant coastal flora.
